Fun & Festive Homemade Goodies for Your Pup! Spring is almost here, and Easter is the perfect time to treat your pup to some festive, homemade goodies! Whether you’re putting together a dog-friendly Easter basket or just want to celebrate the season, these dog Easter treat recipes are easy, and pup-approved.
1. Carrot & Pumpkin Bunny Treats
Carrots are a great low-calorie snack packed with vitamins, and pumpkin makes these extra tasty!

Ingredients:
- 1 cup oats
- ½ cup pure pumpkin purée (not pie filling)
- ½ cup grated carrots
- 1 egg
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix pumpkin, carrots, and egg together, then add oats
- Form into small balls. The egg will help the batter stay together without cracking once baked.
- Place on a lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. I like to use parchment paper on a baking sheet for no sticking and easy clean up.
- Let cool before serving to your pup!
2. Blueberry “Easter Egg” Frozen Bites
A refreshing and antioxidant-packed frozen snack, perfect for spring days.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (unsweetened, plain)
- ½ cup mashed blueberries
Instructions:
- Mix yogurt and mashed blueberries in a bowl
- Spoon mixture (or use zip lock back to pipette) into Easter egg-shaped silicone molds or ice cube trays. All I could find were dog-themed molds, but search online for molds for all holidays!
- Freeze for 2-3 hours until solid.
- Pop out and serve as a cool springtime treat!
3. Banana and Oats Bunny Bites
Light and naturally sweet! Your pup will love the combination of banana and peanut butter. For extra fun, sprinkle unsweetened coconut flakes on top for a tropical twist!

Ingredients:
- 1 ripe banana, mashed
- ½-1 cup oat flour
- 2 tbsp peanut butter (xylitol-free!)
- Splash of unsweetened applesauce
- (optional) unsweetened coconut flakes
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Mix banana, oats, and peanut butter in a bowl until combined. Add splash of applesauce to moisten the batter to the desired consistency. You want this to be able to be formed into balls but not so dry that they break apart.
- Form into small balls
- Place on a lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes. I use parchment paper on a baking sheet for no sticking and easy clean up.
- (optional) Sprinkle unsweetened coconut flakes on top while cooling.
- Let cool before giving to your pup!

Safety Tips for Dog Easter Treat Recipes
- Always use dog-safe ingredients. Check labels to ensure no hidden chocolate, artificial sweeteners (ie, xylitol), or large amounts of sugar. Look for unsweetened ingredients instead of “sugar-free” ingredients. The artificial sweeteners can be very toxic to dogs!
- Keep Easter baskets out of reach—foil wrappers, plastic grass, and candy can be harmful to your pup if consumed. The easiest way to avoid a costly vet trip is to simply keep these things out of your pup’s reach!
- Introduce new treats slowly to avoid stomach upset for your pup. Always talk to your vet about any dietary concerns for your pup.
